Preschool

I finally did it!  The kids are in preschool.  After touring a countless number of preschools then Isabelle not wanting to go, and then me questioning the whole thing.  It took a lot of thought and TJ telling me that he wants them to go to finally do it.  So we are going in the third week and it went better then I could have ever imagined. Not one single tear from any of us.  It has made it so easy since they love it and the best thing is that they are in the same class.

After their first day of school we celebrated with ice cream.  I feel like everyday I pick them up I ask a million and one questions about their day.  It is weird not being with them, but I like hearing about their time at school.  Isabelle told me she made one friend that first day, but Bronsy made a Bunch of friends.  Too cute!
Getting cute little art projects is just a bonus.
This week they have school pictures and I was invited to their teddy bear picnic. So excited!

Milestone: Bike Riding

Such an exciting day!  Isabelle learned to ride her bike without training wheels.  We still need a little practice, but she did AMAZING!  I am just so proud of her!

Bronson is also doing great!  We bought him a strider and he is just amazing on it.  We are so lucky that Auntie Cammie has a track in her backyard.  It is so much fun!
This week we are going to keep practicing and maybe I can even get Bronsy riding his bike.

A fun weekend...

This past weekend was the annual Bustamante Family Reunion.  This year it was in San Jose, so we decided to make a stop at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom on the way down.  The best part is Auntie Cammie, Bradley and Briella joined us.  The kids loved it!
Trying to find Bugs Bunny.  Isabelle said "He must have gone grocery shopping."
She makes me laugh.

Bradley's 1st ride!

We were there for five hours and only got through maybe half of the park.  I guess we will have to take another trip there soon.
Isabelle was thrilled to see her cousins.
It is so nice that we all get together once a year.  Looking forward to the next reunion.

Wolfie Jr. Soccer Camp

We signed the kids up for a soccer camp at UNR.  They loved it!  I wish this program was year around.   They got a soccer ball and a cute little shirt.  My little sleepy heads had no problem waking up early to go to soccer.

Lake Tahoe

We are lucky to be so close to Lake Tahoe.
They think they are swimming.  So cute!

It's raining, it's pouring...

This was their first time playing in the rain.  They loved it!

The Big 30

I can't believe Brant is 30!!  Where did this sweet little boy go?  I just love this picture!
This past weekend Nicole threw Brant a surprise party and it was so much fun.  He kind of knew something was happening for dinner, but he was shocked when the party bus showed up.  I have so many wonderful memories with my brother and I am so happy I got to celebrate with him.
It was a fun night!
I got to make a cute little banner for the party.

TJ is the next one to turn 30, I better start planning.

Wild Island!

We went to Wild Waters yesterday and had so much fun. The kids are at a perfect age now.  They go down the slides together and I just catch them at the bottom.  There is no more having to take one down the slide while the other is running off to do something else, that was too stressful last year.  Now we can actually relax and have a fun time.

Our poor little Bronsy

Bronson has had a really rough time lately.  I am hoping it is just a phase, but everyone keeps telling me he is just a boy.  I think that is the truth because with Isabelle I never had these problems.  I am not sure I can go a lifetime always being terrified of what he is going to do next.  Every time I hear that cry I think the worse.  Not only does he get hurt every other day, but I send daddy to take him to get his haircut and he comes back looking like Caillou.  He is still handsome, but it is not my favorite look on him.  Thank goodness it grows back so fast.
About a month ago is when it all started.  We were in the backyard and he was playing on his little cozy coupe and fell right off into the rocks.  A trip to the ER and two staples later he was ready to start playing again.  He is a tough little man though.  Not even a tear when they did the staples.  Just gave daddy thumbs up.  The doctor was even asking if he was awake. While he was being strong I was a mess.  My poor little man.
On Saturday we were at my grandparents house and he was playing outside.  All of a sudden I hear that cry and he got stung by a bee on his eyelid. In between these two incidents there have been multiple scratches, bruises and too many hits to the nose.
He looks like a boxer
I think this is just the beginning, I better toughen up a little.

Dirt + Fun= Camping

We went camping last weekend and the kids couldn't have been more excited.  There is no kid that loves camping more than our little man Bronson.  He was thrilled to be able to explore and play out in the wilderness.
Yes, this is what the kids looked like while we were camping.  I guess sometimes you just have to let the kids be kids.  If you know me I am a crazy cleaning lady and I have to say this past weekend I was actually OK with all the dirt.  The kids had so much fun!

Rodeo Parade

Yesterday was the annual rodeo parade here in the biggest little city.  My grandparents love to take the kids and this year I tagged along.  Not only do we go, but we go all out for this event.  Of course the kids had to have rodeo gear.  As always, I think they were the cutest cowboys and cowgirl there.
Bradley would only give me his funny face.
Every time someone would go by Bradley would say "Hi" and Bronsy would give them thumbs up.  They were being silly, but I am sure they entertained everyone around us.
We had a wonderful time.  Looking forward to next years parade.

On another note...
I came across this picture of Isabelle's 1st trip to the rodeo.
 Where did the time go?
(2009)                                                          (2013)
 She is absolutely beautiful.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband and the best daddy in the world.  We love you more than you will ever know and appreciate everything you do for us.   We love you!!
I love these questionnaires for kids.  The answers you get are priceless!
This year I had the kids draw a picture of daddy.  This one was Bronsy's picture.
I think it looks like him, don't you?
Happy Father's Day TJ, Papa Timmy, Tata and Papa Arnie!  We love you all!

Cupcakes!

The question I probably get asked the most is,  "How do you get the frosting swirl on your cupcakes?"   If it wasn't for my talented Mother in-law I would never know how to do this. The key to decorating cupcakes is Wilton's Decorating Tips, absolutely amazing.  They really do all the work!  There are so many different tips to use and each will make your cupcakes look amazing.  The decorating tip I use the most is 1M.  It is a swirl tip and is very simple to use.  When it come to decorating cupcakes or even cakes it is really a blank slate ready for you to express your creativity.  There are so many possibilities, truly endless when it comes to decorating. So just have fun with it and see what you can create.

June 8, 2013

My little superhero's birthday party was so much fun.  Planning parties is one of my favorite things to do.  I know I get more out of it then my two kiddos.  I love thinking of a theme, decorations, favors and all the fun little details.   It was a little hectic the morning of, but it was all worth
it.

This year Bronsy decided he wanted a Superhero party.  He couldn't decide on only one superhero, so we focused on Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Hulk, and of course Superwoman.
A few months ago we were at Chuck E. Cheese and another family had a Superhero party and each guest had their own cape.  It was the cutest thing ever, so I knew I was going to have capes for all of the little superheroes.  This was a bigger job then I imagined.  Thank goodness for my little sewing team (aka My Grandparents).  The boys capes were pretty simple, but I was never able to find girl superhero fabric so I had to make them myself.
I love picking out goodies for the favors and this year I came across the cutest cups at Old Navy and Target.  I think we picked the best theme since the new Man of Steel movie is coming out.  There is superhero stuff everywhere you go.

My first cake using marshmallow fondant.  It was really easy to make and so much cheaper then buying the premade fondant.  I do have to say that this cake was really just for display, because my son still just wanted a cupcake.  I am glad that I made it though, because I have never worked with fondant before.  Fondant has endless possibilities
It was so hot this year that we had to make sure to have plenty of water activities for the kids.  This year we decided to make some water balloons.  It was a hit, but they went fast.
Batmobile pool.
 PiƱata time!
The party turned out perfect and I am so thankful for all of our friends and family.  Thank you for helping us celebrate our little mans 3rd birthday.

I wonder what next years theme will be.
