Rodeo Parade

Yesterday was the annual rodeo parade here in the biggest little city.  My grandparents love to take the kids and this year I tagged along.  Not only do we go, but we go all out for this event.  Of course the kids had to have rodeo gear.  As always, I think they were the cutest cowboys and cowgirl there.
Bradley would only give me his funny face.
Every time someone would go by Bradley would say "Hi" and Bronsy would give them thumbs up.  They were being silly, but I am sure they entertained everyone around us.
We had a wonderful time.  Looking forward to next years parade.

On another note...
I came across this picture of Isabelle's 1st trip to the rodeo.
 Where did the time go?
(2009)                                                          (2013)
 She is absolutely beautiful.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband and the best daddy in the world.  We love you more than you will ever know and appreciate everything you do for us.   We love you!!
I love these questionnaires for kids.  The answers you get are priceless!
This year I had the kids draw a picture of daddy.  This one was Bronsy's picture.
I think it looks like him, don't you?
Happy Father's Day TJ, Papa Timmy, Tata and Papa Arnie!  We love you all!

Cupcakes!

The question I probably get asked the most is,  "How do you get the frosting swirl on your cupcakes?"   If it wasn't for my talented Mother in-law I would never know how to do this. The key to decorating cupcakes is Wilton's Decorating Tips, absolutely amazing.  They really do all the work!  There are so many different tips to use and each will make your cupcakes look amazing.  The decorating tip I use the most is 1M.  It is a swirl tip and is very simple to use.  When it come to decorating cupcakes or even cakes it is really a blank slate ready for you to express your creativity.  There are so many possibilities, truly endless when it comes to decorating. So just have fun with it and see what you can create.

June 8, 2013

My little superhero's birthday party was so much fun.  Planning parties is one of my favorite things to do.  I know I get more out of it then my two kiddos.  I love thinking of a theme, decorations, favors and all the fun little details.   It was a little hectic the morning of, but it was all worth
it.

This year Bronsy decided he wanted a Superhero party.  He couldn't decide on only one superhero, so we focused on Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Hulk, and of course Superwoman.
A few months ago we were at Chuck E. Cheese and another family had a Superhero party and each guest had their own cape.  It was the cutest thing ever, so I knew I was going to have capes for all of the little superheroes.  This was a bigger job then I imagined.  Thank goodness for my little sewing team (aka My Grandparents).  The boys capes were pretty simple, but I was never able to find girl superhero fabric so I had to make them myself.
I love picking out goodies for the favors and this year I came across the cutest cups at Old Navy and Target.  I think we picked the best theme since the new Man of Steel movie is coming out.  There is superhero stuff everywhere you go.

My first cake using marshmallow fondant.  It was really easy to make and so much cheaper then buying the premade fondant.  I do have to say that this cake was really just for display, because my son still just wanted a cupcake.  I am glad that I made it though, because I have never worked with fondant before.  Fondant has endless possibilities
It was so hot this year that we had to make sure to have plenty of water activities for the kids.  This year we decided to make some water balloons.  It was a hit, but they went fast.
Batmobile pool.
 PiƱata time!
The party turned out perfect and I am so thankful for all of our friends and family.  Thank you for helping us celebrate our little mans 3rd birthday.

I wonder what next years theme will be.

Where did the time go?

I can't believe these two little boys are 3.  It feels like yesterday my sister and I were pregnant.  Now they are big boys.  The past three years have flown by and I have enjoyed every second of watching these two grow up.   I am so happy that they will be able to grow up together and be little buddies for life.  I can't imagine what it will be like when they are 16.  We have so much to look forward to.

Homemade Ice Cream

Ingredients:

2 cups 2% milk
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
Ice Cream Salt
Ice

In a large bowl, stir together the milk, heavy whipping cream, sugar, salt and vanilla extract until the sugar has dissolved.  Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and after about 20 minutes of churning add any extra goodies (chocolate chips, pistachios, fruit, etc...)  We have the Original Aroma Ice Cream maker and it takes between 30-40 minutes to make ice cream.  Just follow the instruction manual for your specific machine.

The best thing about this recipe is that you can change flavors by using different extracts.  We love making Mint Chocolate Chip and we just add a 1/2 tsp of peppermint extract and some mini chocolate chips.  It is that easy!  Not only is it tasty, but it is a fun activity for the kids to do.  They like using the hand crank and churning the ice cream themselves.

He is a Big Boy now!!

This video was from a few months ago, but I still had to share.  He is officially potty trained and has been for over a month now.  I always thought boys were harder to potty train, but Bronsy proved me wrong.  When they are ready they will do it.  I realized that pushing it just makes it harder, if you just wait till they are ready it makes it so much easier on everyone.  That is my one tip for all the parents out there.
When Isabelle was in this process I remember calling my sister in-law and asking her how she started taking Carter out and about in big kid underwear.  I was terrified of her having an accident  while we grocery shopping or something.  She reassured that everything would be OK and just to make sure to bring extra clothes.  Well she was right it was fine.  With Bronson I never even had to think twice about it.  From the start he has always told me when he needed to go.  We are definitely out of the baby stage now, makes me sad.

Family Vacation 2013

Every year we plan a trip that is just for the kids.  Last year we went to Disneyland and this year we went to San Diego.  Family vacations mean two things to us; fun and quality family time.  My grandparents always join us for the fun and this year we convinced Uncle Brant to tag along.  I always try to get the maximum amount of time with my family, so this trip we all went down in the Buxton Bounder.  It only took us 10 hours.

(I love this picture!)
As soon as we arrived it was time to hit the pool.  The kids grabbed their gear and were ready to have some fun!  Every vacation the pool is one of the kids favorite things to do.  I think they could spend all day there if they could.  On this trip we had something planned everyday; Legoland, San Diego Zoo, Sea World and a day at the beach.  It was an action packed few days.

Waiting for Shamu to come splash, of course we had to sit in the splash zone.
This was Isabelle's first roller coaster ride.  She looks frightened, but after that she kept wanting to go.  She is our little daredevil.

We had an amazing time and we are looking forward to our next family vacation.
